This is a Power-of-Attorney document signed by Martha
J. Dean (Shaddix) and Sarah E. Dean (Shaddix) giving power of attorney to their
brother, and my gg grandfather, Jeff Joshua (JJ) Shaddix. This document
gave him rights to sell land and belongings that were still in Cass Co., Texas
from their parents' and uncle's estates, as they were both living in Oklahoma by
this time. Incidentally, Martha J "Mattie" and Sarah Elizabeth
married Dean brothers, Charles and Joshua, respectively.
You'll notice in this document, Dean is repeatedly
spelled Deen, but this document was written by W.A. Powell, County Clerk for
Cass County, and my research to date points to the correct spelling as Dean at
this point in time.
